There are generally two ways to record videos; the traditional method is to connect all the cameras to DVR or NVR, and the second method is to record the videos on the cloud.

Our recommended method is to record videos on local storage (DVR/NVR) and then maintain a copy on the cloud.  This method allows to record higher resolution videos on the local storage and then reduced quality videos on the cloud.  The video footages are still recorded even if the ISP is down.  Also, it gives a huge advantage if the local storage is damaged or stolen as the footages are copied on the cloud.
